Hydrodictyon reticulatum

The cells of Hydrodictyon have multiple nuclei with large central nucleoli. In the picture are two of them visible in the cell center and at the right end of the cell. The larger, dark-green body in the left half cell is a pyrenoid. Scale bar indicates 25 µm.

Sample from the Lake Constance (vicinity of Bodman). The image was built up using several photomicrographic frames with manual stacking technique. Images were taken using Zeiss Universal with Olympus C7070 CCD camera.

Die Zellen der Hydrodictyon haben mehrere Zellkerne mit großen zentralen Nucleoli. Im Bild sind zwei davon sichtbar: in der Zellmitte und am rechten Zellende. Der größere, dunkelgrüner Körper in der linken Zellhälfte ist ein Pyrenoid. Multiebenen-Abbildung, manuell gestapelt. Der Messbalken markiert eine Länge von 25 µm.
