In this image the focal plane is approximately in the middle of the cell. Shown are the vacuoles at the cell ends with crystals of barium sulfate with traces of strontium, calcium and radium. The circular greenish structures are pyrenoid bodies in which the storage substance starch is produced and deposited as a shell. The nucleus is located in the middle of the cell.

Scale bar indicates 50 µm.

Sample from wetland Lauchseemoor, Fieberbrunn, Tyrol, Austria. Sampling date 06/2023. The image was built up using several photomicrographic frames with manual stacking technique. Images were taken using Zeiss Axioplan with Olympus OM-D M5 MKII.

Multiebenen-Abbildung, manuell gestapelt. Der Messbalken markiert eine Länge von 50 µm.
