Hyalotheca dissiliens Filamentous desmid with a huge gelatinous jacket. Center cell is ready for binary fission, cell is elongated, chlorplasts are separated and the nucleus is centered. Usual position of nucleus shows (from the right) first and forth cell of lower filament.

Filamentöse Zieralge mit einer dicken Gallerthülle. Die-Zelle in der Mitte ist kurz vor der Teilung. Die Zelle ist bereits verlängert, die Chlorplasten haben sich getrennt und der Kern ist in die Zellmitte gewandert. Die übliche Position des Kerns ist bei der ersten und vierten Zelle von rechts im unteren Zellfaden zu sehen.
