Planotaenium interruptum (BREB.) LÜTKEM. Aka Netrium interruptum. The cells are 4-5 times longer than wide. The central part is cylindrical and gradually converging towards the broadly rounded off ends. The terminating vacuoles are big with a spherical crystal each. The chromatophores are clearly partitioned in four segments.
Dimension: Length 200 – 350 µm, width 30 – 70 µm.
Ecology: Sporadic in little acidic fens and bogs, in addition, in the plankton of oligotrophic lakes.
Occurrence: Ubiquitous, apart from Australia.

Vormals Netrium interruptum. Die Zellen sind 4 – 5 mal so lang wie breit, die Seiten sind im Mittelteil gerade und gegen die breit abgerundeten Enden zu allmählich konvergierend. Die Endvakuolen sind groß mit je einem kugeligen Kristall. Die Chromatophoren sind deutlich in vier Segment unterteilt.
Dimensionen: Länge 200 – 350 µm, Breite 30 – 70 µm.
Ökologie: Vereinzelt in schwach sauren Mooren, Moorseen, aber auch im Plankton oligotropher Gewässer.
Verbreitung: Abgesehen von Australien weltweit.
