Ptygura longicornis Fully unfolded corona (double arrowhead), one remaining eyespot, both lateral/ventral antennae (arrowhead) are visible, the lower one is very much shortened in perspective, while the upper one is almost perpendicular to the direction of photography. Many setae are shown in optical section (double headed arrow), also the piston (arrow), showing that the setae also run inside the antennae. Although the setae are significantly longer than the retracted body, they are fully retractable! They are likely to be coiled up in the body when retracted. Scale bar indicates 50 µm.

Voll entfaltete Corona (Doppelpfeilspitze), ein noch nicht abgebauter Augenfleck, beide seitlichen/ventralen Taster (Pfeilspitze) sind sichtbar, der untere ist perspektivisch stark verkürzt, während der obere fast senkrecht zur Blickrichtung steht. Viele Tasterhaare sind im optischen Schnitt (Doppelpfeil) dargestellt, auch der sogenannte Kolben (Pfeil). Man sieht, dass die Tasterhaare auch in den Tastern verlaufen. Obwohl die Tasterhaare deutlich länger sind als der eingezogenen Körper, sie sind vollständig einziehbar! Sie werden wahrscheinlich im Körper aufgerollt, wenn sie zurückgezogen werden. Der Messbalken markiert eine Länge von 50 µm.
