Staurastrum sexangulare (BULH.) P. LUNDELL var. crassum W. B. TURNER The cell halves are flat elliptically in shape. From the sides two long cell arms are away. They are bifurcated at the ends. The central cuts are deep, strongly broadened towards the periphery. The cell vertices are flat convex. The vertex view shows a star formed by (5) 7 cell arms in pairs.
Dimension: Length 75 – 80 µm, width 80 – 90 µm.
Ecology: In medium acidic to acidic fens.
Occurrence: Ubiquitous, rare inCentral Europe.

Die Zellhälften sind im groben Umriss flach elliptisch, von den Seiten stehen zwei lange, an den Enden gegabelte Zellarme ab. Die Mitteleinschnitte sind tief, nach außen stark erweitert, die Zellscheitel flach konvex. Die Scheitelansicht erscheint durch die (5) 7 paarigen Zellarme sternförmig.
Dimensionen: Länge 75 – 80 µm, Breite 80 – 90 µm.
Ökologie: mäßig bis saure Moorgewässer.
Verbreitung: Weltweit, in Mitteleuropa sehr selten.
