Epiclintes ambiguus This highly contractile marine ciliat has ventral cirri in oblique and marginal rows and three rows of dorsal cilia, thus it is a hypotrich ciliat. The adorale zone of membranelles shows clearly the assemblage of cilia to membranelles.
The very special dorsal cilia (visible as a lateral row) each emerge from a cortical papilla. Scale bar indicates 100 µm.

Dieser höchst kontraktile marine Ciliat hat ventralen Cirren in schrägen und randständigen Reihen sowie drei dorsale Cilienreihen. Somit handelt es sich um einen hypotrichen Ciliaten. Die Abbildung der adoralen Membranellenzone zeigt deutlich, dass die Membranellen aus Cilien bestehen.
Es gibt ganz besondere dorsale Cilien (sichtbar als seitliche Reihe), die jeweils aus einer kortikalen Papille entspringen. Der Messbalken markiert eine Länge von 100 µm.
