Staurastrum pilosum

Description: The cells are only a little braoder than long, the cell halves are oblong elliptical, the cell ends are flatly rounded off. The central cut is deep and extends towards the periphery. The cell wall is occupied with closely standing, concentrically arranged rows of pricks. The vertex view looks triangular with concave sides.

Dimension: Length 30–50 µm, width 35–65 µm.

Occurrence: Only sporadic occurrence in fens, marsch areas and littoral zones.
