Note: Coesel synonymizes St. senarium and St. forficulatum var. verrucosum. However, the range of dimensions of the two species differ significantly from each other, for the latter it is given:
Length (35)–40–50 µm, width (32)–40–48 µm!

Dimension: Length 26–33 µm, width 30–37 µm.

Occurrence: Common in shallow waters between sphagnum, in lowlands and alpine regions.
