Oedogonium spec.

Sampling date 08/2010. Scale bar indicates 25 µm.

Oedogonium forms unbranched filaments which are attached on stones or plants. After each binary fission the axial cells get rib-like marks on the cell wall. So the number of „ribs“ indicate the number of divisions the cell has undergone.
