Four images. The specimen was grown on a filament of the red alga Polysiphonia fibrillosa.

First and second:Optical cross section through the cell body and the lorica, synoptical representation of the two peristome lobes.
Third:The arrow indicates the chitinous connecting plate between the base plate and the lorica neck. This connection is a relevant identification feature for the species.

The nucleus appears rounded and compact, the holdfast tapering. The holdfast is shown in lateral view. A series of images of 12 optical sections depicted below shows that it must be broad and spatulate in top view.
