Third: | The arrow indicates the chitinous connecting plate between the base plate and the lorica neck. This connection is a relevant identification feature for the species. |
Fourth: | This image shows further relevant identification feature for the species: The nucleus appears rounded and compact, the holdfast tapering. The holdfast is shown in lateral view. A series of images of 12 optical sections depicted below shows that it must be broad and spatulate in top view.
