Dimension: Length (70)–80–110–(120) µm, width (65)–70–105–(120) µm, L/W (0.95)–1.05–1.15–(1.2).
Occurrence: Acidophilic alga, as an accompanying species in acidic sphagnum bog pits, silting zones of moor lakes, alpine ponds and the like up to 2000 m. Also widespread in lowlands.
