Eremosphaera viridis De Bary 1858

Most likely ID: n.a.

Basionym: n.a.

Add’l Synonyms: Chlorosphaera oliveri Henfrey 1859

This page shows stages of germination of Eremosphaera viridis cystozygotes up to the normal vegetative state of the cells.

It can be observed that, as the cells divide, the reddish UV protective pigments are gradually broken down.

Sampling date 10/2019. Scale bars indicate 100 µm (1, 3), 250 µm (2).

Three images.
