Remark: In the paper mentioned below, Soler-Zamora et al. used molecular biology to investigate the problem of ‘shadow species’ in the collective species Cyphoderia ampulla sensu lato and established the new genus Ichthyosquama. The specimen shown here under the name Cyphoderia amphoralis (still common in 2024) are most likely members of the genus Ichthyosquama: I. amphoralis.
