The cross-sections show the narrow, cylindrical neck that is typical for the species.

Three images, whole test and two optical cross-sections. 

In this test, too, the characteristic tubular shape of the neck is masked by the attached diatom frustules and is only visible in the last cross-section.

In addition to diatom frustules, several round, brown xenosomes can be seen in the shell. These are fruiting bodies (uredospores) of rust fungi; they were very numerous in the local water.
